Press Pause Moments:
Essays about Life Transitions by Women Writers

About the Editor

Anne Witkavitch is a professional writer and editor, communications expert and speaker. Her own life transition and pursuit of her goals and dreams were the inspiration for Press Pause Moments: Essays About Life Transitions by Women Writers.

Anne was a successful corporate communications professional when she decided in midlife to pursue her lifelong ambition to write and publish. While raising two young children and blessed with a supportive stay-at-home husband, Anne began the delicate balancing act of pursuing a full-time, low-residency M.F.A. in Professional Writing while holding down an executive role and being a dedicated parent - all the while writing wherever and whenever she could. She completed her degree in December 2007 and decided at the same time to take a "sabbatical" from corporate life to pursue her writing career and entrepreneurial calling.

The Writing Life

Anne takes an eclectic approach to her writing, focusing on essay, nonfiction, fiction, children's and business. Her work has appeared in Miranda Literary Magazine, The Journal of Employee Communications Management, Time, Inc.'s Work in Progress blog and Vermont Short Bites. She is also a contributing editor and blogger for TravelingMom.com and serves as Managing Editor of the Thin Threads inspirational book series from Kiwi Publishing.

Anne teaches managerial, professional and expository writing at Western Connecticut State Unversity, her graduate school alma mater, and serves as a writing mentor for the M.F.A. in Creative and Professional Writing Program as well as leads workshops and participates as a guest panelist at the residencies.  She also is a member of the thesis review committee.

Anne also offers writing, editorial and coaching services to executives, thought leaders, and subject matter experts who are writing a book, proposal or article.

A believer in giving back to the community, Anne is on the Board of Directors of Bites of Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to helping cancer patients and their families understand the important link between nutrition and treatment.

Press Pause Now: Empowering Women to Succeed

Anne founded Press Pause Now as a way to help women figure out their vision and goals and how to achieve them through workshops, retreats and coaching that empower them to succeed. She facilitates their thinking and helps them transfer their ideas into words and/or action plans.

C-Suite Communications: Turning the Power of Your Words Into a Strategic Advantage

Anne continues to provide consulting and professional writing services to corporations, organizations and small businesses through her firm, C-Suite Communications. She recently launched a subsidiary, Executive Anthologies, where she works with executives and thought leaders who want to write a book, article or essays, either coaching them through the process or collaborating with them on the writing and editing.
